This presentation will introduce a digital dentistry approach to single tooth implant therapy. The ability to combine CBCT and tissue surface scans in planning software enables the production of surgical guides, abutments and crowns prior to implant surgery. At the time of surgery, the implant, abutment and provisional crown are delivered with accuracy. We have defined a placement protocol that reproducibly results in esthetic abutment/crown mucosa relationships that assure excellent esthetics following this protocol. Results of our initial clinical investigation and illustrative clinical scenarios will be used to highlight the potential benefits and challenges with this approach to single tooth dental implant therapy.
